Help for getting started, using shared phrases, and keeping your trusted circle private. ScamDefend is a verification tool you open on purpose — it does not monitor calls or messages.
Use a sign-in method you control. Do not share your password or authentication codes with anyone, including someone who claims to be from ScamDefend.
Invite parents, grandparents, partners, children, relatives, or other people you trust using their email. Only invite people you actually know. Each accepted relationship gets its own unique shared phrase.
If you receive an invite, confirm it is from someone you expect. Accept to create the shared phrase. Deny requests you do not recognize.
If you get a suspicious call, text, email, or request claiming to be that loved one:
You can generate a fresh phrase whenever you want a new one — for example if you think the old phrase was seen by someone else.
If you cannot sign in, confirm you are using the same method you used at sign-up. For account recovery details, contact support. [REQUIRES CONFIRMATION BEFORE PUBLISHING] exact recovery steps.
Trusted relationships require invitations and acceptance. Phrase data is encrypted before storage. This is not end-to-end encryption. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
Describe what happened, the device and iOS version if you know them, and screenshots if they do not show your phrase. Never send your live verification phrase to support unless support specifically asks you to rotate it first.
Request deletion through the app if available, or by emailing support from the address on the account. [REQUIRES CONFIRMATION BEFORE PUBLISHING] in-app path and how long deletion takes.
Never send money, passwords, verification codes, or sensitive information solely because someone creates urgency.
When something feels suspicious, independently contact the person or organization using contact information you already trust.
ScamDefend provides an additional verification method and does not guarantee the legitimacy of a request.
For emergencies, contact the appropriate local emergency services directly. ScamDefend does not contact banks, police, or emergency services for you.
