ScamDefend is a private verification app. Users create an account, invite a loved one by email, and — if the invitation is accepted — receive a unique shared verification phrase for that relationship. You may rotate a phrase. ScamDefend is an additional verification step. It does not monitor calls or messages, detect scams automatically, or guarantee that a request is legitimate.

Phrases are an additional identity check. Treat them as sensitive. Do not post phrases publicly. Rotate a phrase if you believe it has been exposed. Phrase data is encrypted before storage; this is not described as end-to-end encryption.
You remain responsible for independently contacting loved ones using details you already trust, and for deciding whether to send money, codes, or account information. ScamDefend does not replace your judgment, your bank’s procedures, or emergency services.
ScamDefend does not prevent scams, stop all scams, or guarantee protection. A matching phrase does not prove that a request is safe. A scammer may still pressure you through other channels. Slow down, verify independently, then decide.
